
The West Michigan Sports Commission has confirmed 30 locations to host the 31 sports scheduled for the 2012 Meijer State Games of Michigan.
Michigan athletes regardless of age or ability are invited to compete June 22-24, at some of West Michigan’s most notable venues including Grand Valley State University, Grand Haven State Park, The Meadows Golf Course, Riverside Park and Cornerstone University. Venues such as East Kentwood High School and MVP Fieldhouse will hold multiple sporting events in an effort to create a true Olympic-style sporting atmosphere for the enjoyment of both athletes and fans. East Kentwood High School will also serve as the host for the Opening Ceremonies and Athlete Village.

In the inaugural year, the Meijer State Games of Michigan drew over 3,500 athletes from 62 Michigan counties in which they participated in 15 sports. The Meijer State Games of Michigan saw an increase in participation to over 4,000 athletes in its second year and are anticipating over 5,000 athletes to participate in this year’s games.
