West Michigan Sustainable Business Council

West Michigan Sustainable Business Council | December 10

West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum will host a forum on sustainable conventions, events, and the development of a sustainable event culture in Grand Rapids and West Michigan on Monday, December 10 at DeVos Place Convention Center.

A panel of local leaders will discuss why sustainable conventions and events are important to Grand Rapids as a community and what meeting facilities are doing to support sustainable events.  Experience Grand Rapids will also highlight its Bring it to Grand Rapids program and discuss how local sustainability practitioners can help champion their community as a destination for meetings and conferences.

Speakers include:

Michael Donnelly, General Manager, Amway Grand Plaza Hotel will discuss how Grand Rapids hotels and event facilities are working to improve sustainability in their facilities and services.

Adam London, Health Officer, Kent County Health Department will share his recent experience working with stakeholders to bring a conference to Grand Rapids.

Mayor Rosalynn Bliss,  City of Grand Rapids will discuss the importance of sustainability in making a Grand Rapids a destination, and how all stakeholders are working to promote that culture.

Nichole Steele, National Sales Manager, Experience Grand Rapids will moderate the panel and highlight ways the events and hospitality industry can partner with organizations to promote sustainability and the region.

After the meeting, a tour of DeVos Place will be available for those that are interested.
